Every
moment, every minute, every hour, every day
“Never
look back, look forward” but the pain lingers on
Sleep
stripped of compassion, and that dread every morn
“Learn
to forgive” “You can overcome this” Wait a moment
Can a
life really be lived in perpetual torment?
When
every moment, every minute, every hour, every day
Is
filled with disgust, retribution, pain, fear and dismay
Self-incrimination,
self-doubt, self-loathing and bile
And
the thoughts and the actions carried out with a smile
Familiar
players, unscripted acts with no happy ending
Whilst
doubt festers away under the sham of pretending
That
all will be right in the world in some meaningful way
That every
moment, every minute, every hour, every day
Will
become increasingly better as memory fades in the distance
But
how can it fade when it feeds the core to existence
Lays
the bricks and foundations of scars rooted deep in the mind
Continue
the fight to destroy them, leave them so far behind
That
every moment, every minute, every hour, every day
Can
be welcomed with closure, carefree, joy, no decay
And
those moments of bitterness can be swept away on a tide
Allow
a flourishing life to erupt, blossom, bloom and arise
From
the depths of the carnage, start on the path that climbs to the top
A
journey once shortened by the failure to accept one word,
STOP!
